Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School , is located in the northern area of Burlington, Ontario at 3040 Tim Dobbie Drive. It is an English and French immersion school that serves approximately 1400 grade 9-12 students. In it's first year, Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School served approximately 650 students ranging from grades 9-10 in the Halton District School Board.

Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School was established in 2013, and construction began in 2012 on Tim Dobbie Drive. The school is named after Special Olympics founder Dr. Frank J. Hayden. Dr. Hayden coordinated the first Special Olympics, a cooperative venture of the Kennedy Foundation and the Chicago Park District. The games consisted of 900 athletes from 26 different U.S states. Dr. Frank J. Hayden is an honourable Canadian who was made an Officer of the Order of Canada for his efforts to establish the Special Olympics.
At the University of Toronto, Hayden researched fitness programs for disabled children. He has a notable interest in sports and fitness activities for children, especially for those who have mental disabilities. His research became known to the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation, and for two years Hayden helped produce and build a fitness program and establish legislation to accommodate the disabled. In 1968, he organized the first Chicago Special Olympics and legally incorporated “Special Olympics Inc” and today this program supplies training and friendly rivalry for more than three million athletes in over 170 countries.
Dr. Frank J. Hayden has been presented with many symbolic awards for his invaluable research and contributions to creating fitness programs for people with mental disabilities. Hayden received the Order of Canada in 2000 and the Order of Ontario in 2012.
